How many years counselling experience do you have?

I have been working in the field of human services and counselling for over 30 years. I have over 12 years experience in relationship/couple counselling.

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?

I am an experienced psychological professional. I believe my strengths include commitment to supporting the couple I work with to improve their relationship by motivating them to change dysfunctional patterns of behaviour and by working with me in a team approach. Also I believe I have the ability to conceptualise the problem areas quickly, provide guidance and planning intervention that is tailored to their particular needs.

What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

I strongly believe the quality of our relationship has a direct bearing in our quality of life. Seeing people improving effective communication and emotional connection as a couple inspires and gives me satisfaction to my work. In general giving couples initial hope and followed by the tools to make positive changes together for them is good.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

In general, giving a couple hope and then the tools to make positive changes together.
