How many years counselling experience do you have?

    8 years

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?
    • Non-judgemental
    • Empathic
    • Goal-focused
What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

Helping couples to practice new ways of approaching a problem and hearing them report the benefits it has had on their lives, both in their relationship and as individuals.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

I worked with a couple who were living with two children from the husband’s previous marriage that were hostile to their new stepmother. The wife felt that she was being bullied by the children and that her husband was not supporting her enough and did not prioritise their romantic relationship. They came to me on the brink of separation. Therapy focused on helping each of them empathise more with their partner, find ways to offer each other emotional and practical support, and rediscover the positive qualities that initially attracted them to one another. By the end of therapy they were having a much happier and deeper relationship and had resolved most of the recurrent conflicts with their children.
