Cherie is a caring, empathic and intuitive person who likes to provide a safe, peaceful and reflective environment where people can come to deepen their understanding of themselves and their partner and experiment with new ways of being together.
Cherie has trained in and uses extensive couples and relationship models, attachment theory and attachment repair, family systems therapy, CBT, MBT and ACT. She is also trained in somatic therapies including Hakomi (Body Centred Psychotherapy and Mindfulness). Cherie also has extensive training in trauma treatment models and techniques including: EMDR, Flashing, Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), Somatic Experiencing, Parts work, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Disassociative Disorders.
Cherie has always held a strong interest and value in relationships. She enjoys working alongside couples as they gain insight into their process, consider their own and their partner’s wants and needs, make choices, and learn new ways of approaching familiar situations. This supports them in bringing about the changes that they hope for. She can help with negative emotional patterns, communication and conflict, family disputes, and a wide range of sexual problems, including orgasm disorders and porn addiction.
Cherie enjoys all aspects of her psychological practice and also offers individual therapy for adults. She has special interest and experience in treating the effects of trauma and working with adults healing the scars of earlier difficult life experiences. She has experience working with a range of areas including: fertility problems, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, life planning, and life transitions.
