Colleen is a respected Counsellor, Supervisor, and educator who specialises in supporting clients with disabilities. She has extensive experience as a supervisor and is deeply committed to the transformative impact of high-quality supervision. Colleen views supervision as one of the most powerful tools to support, strengthen, and sustain counsellors, social workers, and frontline professionals in their vital work—particularly School Counsellors, a group she is especially passionate about supporting.
She believes effective supervision provides a safe, reflective space where practitioners can build confidence, navigate challenges, and uphold ethical, client-centred practice. Colleen finds great purpose in walking alongside professionals as they develop resilience, refine their skills, and reconnect with their values, with connection being a central element in building effective therapeutic relationships.
Colleen works collaboratively with clients, tailoring her approach to suit each individual’s goals and needs. She draws on traditional talk-therapy frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), alongside Sandplay Therapy and Symbol Work. The choice between sandplay therapy and conventional talk therapy is guided by the client’s preferences and therapeutic needs. Colleen has extensive experience supporting individuals who have experienced trauma and considers it a privilege to provide a safe, protected space where clients can explore and process a wide range of concerns.
She also has significant experience in relationship counselling, supporting couples to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and deepen emotional connection. Using the Gottman Method, Colleen helps partners better understand each other’s inner worlds, manage conflict in healthy ways, and develop practical skills that support lasting relationship and personal wellbeing. Her work is client-led and feedback-informed, and she is passionate about creating a supportive, non-judgemental space where couples feel safe to explore challenges and work collaboratively toward meaningful, positive change.
Outside of her professional work, Colleen enjoys travelling and scuba diving. She also loves playing the piano and is an active trombonist in a band.
