Emma is a highly empathic and compassionate counsellor who works collaboratively, tailoring her approach to the client’s needs. She believes in creating a warm and trusting partnership with clients, recognising their agency and strengths, and supporting them to develop self-awareness and sustainable, effective strategies for problem-solving and self-care to promote improved wellbeing and mental health.
Emma is a Masters of Couples Counselling student in her final year of study at Swinburne University and Relationships Australia. With an evidence-based, integrative approach, Emma works sensitively with clients facing life issues including challenges in couples, parenting and family relationships, work-related issues, low self-esteem, anxiety, low mood, grief and loss. Emma supports clients to make sense of their lives, connecting their past to the present and re-imagining the future.
In addition to her counselling skills, Emma has a professional background in education and family wellbeing. She understands the issues and tensions facing parents and children as they navigate social connections, school and physical and emotional development.
Emma incorporates mindfulness into the therapeutic process for interested clients.
