Jake is a warm and empathetic psychologist to seeks to create a pace where one can feel heard and understood in order to create a strong working relationship with his clients. Jake has a passion for helping people overcome their challenges to find meaning and purpose, and connect more deeply with themselves, others, and the world.
Jake’s approach to therapy is grounded in the beliefs that each person is unique and has the capacity for growth. Jake views therapy as a collaborative endeavour, and he seeks to identify one’s goals and develop a treatment plan drawing on a range of evidence-based treatments that is tailored to the unique needs and preferences of his clients.
Jake primarily draws upon cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) skills, and schema therapy in an integrative way, recognising that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. Jake has worked with individuals with a range of challenges including challenges in their relationships, difficulty expressing their emotions, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, and more.
