As part of her practice, Jess is a strong believer in moving toward connection and healing and away from shame and disempowerment. As your therapist she will aim to guide you toward a more settled connection while providing a safe space where you can explore the deeper needs that may have gone unmet for a long while. She understands the strength it takes to enter therapy, and respects you and your partnership along the journey.
Formally, Jess is a qualified counsellor and member of the Australian Counselling Association. She has experience working with individuals and couples within a range of areas including relationship breakdown, communication issues, infidelity, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, LGBTQI+, issues with self-compassion and grief and loss.
Alongside an empathic, client-centered approach to therapy, Jess focuses on using proven working methods to help provide a pathway to healing. Such approaches are evidence-based Couples Therapy, including the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. These theories aside, she will work to ensure your needs are priority and tailor the treatment to your relationship and its dimensions.
Jess’ practice aims to reconnect you with your natural passion, purpose and establish your deeper capacity for love and intimacy. Her role is to provide you with a place to heal; with an ideology that expresses, ‘sometimes we just need a helping hand’.
