Julia is passionate about relationship counselling. Life, as Julia sees it, is about relationships; relationships with yourself and relationships with others. Julia has extensive experience as a psychologist and has worked within government, private and community sectors in counselling, educational and training roles. She has conducted workshops focusing on enhancing couple relationships with Relationships Australia as well as communication skills and self-esteem programs.
Julia provides counselling to individuals as well, across a wide range of issues including workplace stress, bullying, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma and grief and loss. She also guides people through life transitions including being single again, changing careers, coping with redundancy, and being an “empty nester”. Julia is also available for pre-marriage counselling, anger management counselling, and counselling relating to narcissism.
Julia is skilled in using the Myers Briggs Type Indicator as a platform for couples to work through differences and to value the gifts each brings to the relationship. She is dynamic in her approach and empowers people to take responsibility for their own happiness.
Julia believes that all people have the right to seek happiness and fulfillment in their personal and work lives and that everyone at times needs support and help to find clarity, purpose and healing along their way. With sensitivity and a touch of humour at times, Julia encourages people to take responsibility for their life and choices, empowering them to explore new directions and make positive changes.
