Julianne (Julie) is a mature, warm, friendly, non-judgemental and understanding therapist with life experience. She is an experienced therapist comfortable working with a range of presentations. She has been working in private practice for eleven years. Julie enjoys assisting all her clients gain control over the issues that they are experiencing.
Often couples have become caught up in the busy world of working, raising children, helping with grandchildren or even just found that retirement has brought challenges. They have worked so hard to provide, that they forgot to provide love and support to each other. They have lost sight of each other and what their relationship once promised.
Couples therapy provides an opportunity for a couple to move past blame and pain. Julie will assist couples in learning to trust each other, and enjoy their time together once again. This is achieved through improved communications and understandings of each other. Together the couple and Julie work to identify the issues that need to be resolved, and formulate a plan to improve the relationship.
Julie uses a range of therapies and techniques to gain an understanding of her clients and their challenges, and to assist them in change required. These can include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Trauma focussed work, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotion Focussed Therapy.
Be prepared to learn new strategies and ways of being with each other, enjoy a bit of a laugh at times, and improve your relationship. Therapy is a bit of an adventure that encourages personal and relationship growth.
