    About Therapist

This Hart therapist is a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association and is passionate about helping couples achieve their goals. She is fully aware of the significance of counselling to better the lives of the people she works with. She sees it as an enormous privilege to be trusted to hear her clients’ stories and relishes her role in being able to help transform the lives of many of her clients, whether choosing to commit more fully to their relationship or go their separate ways.

This Hart therapist works with each couple using proven, integrative approaches, drawing from diverse theories according to each clients’ needs or preferences. These include psychodynamic and psychoeducation approaches, integrative behaviour couples therapy and emotionally focused therapy. Couples are active participants in the room with her, as she works collaboratively with them to empower them to find the best solution to suit their current situation. She helps couples make sense of what they are experiencing by feeling heard, understood, and be motivated to change for a positive and successful outcome.

She started her work by helping individuals and couples ease through complex parenting transitions, encompassing a range of issues including life transitions adjustments, parent and family relationship difficulties, and communication issues. Inspired by the immense satisfaction of affecting genuine change for her clients, she shifted her focus to an area she sees as the true heart of human life: creating and maintaining strong and satisfying relationships, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, cultural background or relationship status.

This Hart therapist is a fully insured and qualified counsellor, holding a Master of Counselling qualification specializing in couples therapy, a Graduate Diploma in Counselling and is a qualified pre-marital counsellor. She is constantly learning from her clients and they motivate her daily. She is driven by a deep desire to help transform the lives of others, and has witnessed how even the smallest of changes can lead to enormous improvements for the couples she works with.

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?
    1. Authentic
    2. Non-judgemental
    3. Provide balance in the room with a couple
What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

So much! Seeing small changes that occur in the relationship when couples dig deeper throughout the sessions, leading to a more intimate connection and lasting growth in a newfound relationship.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

A couple that comes to mind were stuck in their own way of trying to fix their intimacy problems that they couldn’t hear each other or notice it was pushing them further apart. Through support and guidance, we looked at their individual tendencies and triggers and they began to hear and understand what they needed from each other and themselves. They resolved their issues in a caring way and their intimacy increased to new levels.
