More about Kyra

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?

I am deeply empathic and kind. I am honest, self-reflective and authentic with my clients and I am curious and keen to continue learning about my profession and the experiences of others.

What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

The privilege of being able to provide a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings and gain insight into themselves and their interpersonal relationship dynamics, in order to connect more deeply with others.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

I worked with a couple on the verge of separation after a rupture – barely speaking to each other, displaying stonewalling and passive aggressive behaviour, sleeping in separate rooms and triangulating their child. We have been working together for almost two years now, from weekly initially to a check in every 3 months, and they are able to now communicate with each other in a way that was previously not present in their marriage. They are sharing a bed, more open and connected with each other and have reported being in a better place than they had been for their entire relationship. Through helping the couple gain personal insight and develop empathy for each other, they have created a stronger bond with each other and a happier family life together.
