Michelle is a compassionate and empathetic counsellor dedicated to supporting individuals and couples through life’s challenges with clarity, care, and connection. Specialising in relationship counselling, she focuses particularly on multicultural couples and members of the LGBTQ+ community, offering inclusive and culturally sensitive support as clients navigate relational dynamics, identity, and life transitions.
Michelle holds a Master of Counselling and a Master of Business Marketing from Swinburne University. She has also undertaken advanced training in integrative couple therapy with Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) and various therapeutic modalities, allowing her to tailor treatment to meet each client’s unique needs.
With a passion for integrative healing, Michelle blends evidence-based psychological approaches with holistic mind-body practices. She is a certified yoga teacher (Yoga Alliance, YYT) and trained in sound therapy, weaving these practices into her therapeutic work where appropriate. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Michelle brings a deep cultural awareness to her practice, especially attuned to the experiences of clients from diverse backgrounds. She fosters a warm, respectful, and safe space where individuals and couples feel genuinely seen and heard.
In her work with couples, Michelle treats the relationship as the central client, guiding partners to align their values, strengthen communication, and rebuild emotional intimacy. With individual clients, she supports personal growth by enhancing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience, particularly in areas such as anxiety, stress, grief, trauma, identity, and transitions.
In addition to her therapeutic work, Michelle is deepening her expertise in integrative health and wellness. She is currently completing specialised training through Harvard Medical School in Nutrition & Wellness Expertise Certification. She believes in a holistic and sustainable model of mental health—one that connects emotional wellbeing with lifestyle choices, nutrition, and embodied practices to support long-term, meaningful change.
Michelle has over a decade of experience studying Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and meditation. She strives to integrate mindfulness, compassion, and presence into her counselling work. Her integrative approach is dedicated to helping clients reconnect with themselves, restore balance, and move toward a more grounded and fulfilling life.
