Michael draws on both wisdom from the past, alongside modern research and theory, and over three decades of clinical experience, to help you find answers to difficult situations and relationship problems, and to move towards your personal goals. His approach is summed up as LUV: listen, understand and validate, knowing that we all want to be heard and understood.
Michael provides a safe, supportive, non-judgemental, relaxed counselling atmosphere. You are assured of advice you can trust, and Michael also provides coping strategies you can easily utilise. Michael’s approach is collaborative, strengths-based, empathic and geared to move at your desired pace.
Michael works with teens, adults and couples. He focuses on relationship dynamics and places we tend to become stuck. Other areas of interest include grief and loss especially around bereavement, the unexpected challenges that come with ageing, employment and workplace issues, social anxiety, lack of motivation, ‘breakdowns’, depression, general anxiety, sleep disturbances, chronic pain, and low energy states.
