Paula-Jane is an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist passionate in her work with couples, relationships, individuals and sex therapy; guiding her clients to live their best authentic lives with themselves and others. Valuing each client as an individual with their own story and sense of self, Paula-Jane draws upon multiple psychology theories and modalities of therapy that best suit her clients as individuals, and together as a partnership.
Finding great privilege in supporting couples during times they need the space to reconnect, learn to lovingly communicate effectively, and heal from the hurt caused within the partnership. Fractures can occur in all relationships, causing disruptions with our bonds with our special person(s). Time spent in couples counselling with Paula-Jane explores underlying emotions behind our words and behaviours, exploring past experiences and attachment styles, so partners can learn how to support each other a safe and secure nurturing partnership.
Sexual issues and concerns are common in relationships. Paula-Jane is a trained sex therapist who acknowledges that talking about sex can be difficult for many. She is committed to holding a space that is calm accepting trusting safe and welcoming; allowing you to feel at ease and move at a pace comfortable to you. Paula-Jane is experienced with working with couples with concerns including mismatched desires, sexual dysfunctions, sex addictions, sexual trauma; dedicated to helping her clients become fulfilled their sexual connection and intimacy.
Paula-Jane works with diverse relationship constructs from traditional monogamous heterosexual marriages to open and polyamorous relationships. She has experience with same sex partnerships, partnerships that include people who are trans or non-binary, partnerships from different cultures and partnerships with people with different abilities, including neurodiversity and autism. She understands how our upbringings and society can shape the roles and patterns we play in our romantic relationships and empowers and supports couples to create their own beautiful love story.
The therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client is seen as the most important aspect of therapy to Paula-Jane. Dedicated to her own professional development, continually furthering her study, Paula-Jane strives to be the best therapist she can for her client’s growth and outcomes. The greatest joy of her role is seeing people leaving her care feeling content, lighter and calm within themselves and hope for their future.
