This Hart Social Worker has been working with couples for the last 12 years, as a relationship counsellor and as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (mediator). She strives to build a therapeutic relationship with clients that is warm, caring, supportive and non-judgmental, so that clients feel safe to share their inner thoughts, experiences, and challenges.
This Hart Social Worker understands the challenges and complexities faced by clients in all types of relationships, with or without kids. She is passionate about assisting clients to work through any issues or difficulties with the aim of improving connection and contentment in their relationships.
She has a strong interest in improving connection and contentment in relationships including same sex clients. She has experience in rebuilding relationships after breaches of trust or infidelity. She works with individuals and couples who have struggles with self-esteem issues, or experienced anxiety, depression, or the impacts of alcohol or drugs within their relationships.
She uses various approaches to work with individuals and couples including Narrative therapy, Solution Focussed therapy, Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and nature based mindful strategies.
Her approach to therapy is client focussed and tailored to the needs of her clients. Her approach helps couples determine the goals of therapy and navigate the management of everyday issues whilst keeping a focus on these goals. Her approach often requires clients to undertake homework in between sessions to actively practice the skills and strategies developed in therapy.
