About Sarah B

Sarah specialises in helping clients who feel immobilised and stuck, struggling with unhealthy relational patterns that significantly impact their emotional, psychological, and physical well-being. She creates a supportive environment that fosters meaningful change and renewed progress, guiding clients toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Sarah helps clients to navigate discrepancies, mixed messages, and inner conflicts within their narratives and behaviours, particularly in their most personal life challenges. By unpacking these difficulties with clear, grounded interventions, she creates space and clarity for transformative change. Sarah emphasises resolving these ‘blind spots’ as central to her counselling approach, using evidence-based techniques and resources to equip clients with effective coping strategies for authentic living.

She selects tailored interventions based on each client’s specific therapeutic needs, drawing from proven research and practical experience. Sarah’s counselling style centres on active engagement and nurturing a strong client-therapist relationship, which she believes is pivotal for achieving successful outcomes collaboratively. Clients are encouraged to reach out and begin their journey towards personal growth and resilience.

More about Sarah B

What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

Using my collaborative curiosity to examine and unpack clients’ negative beliefs. This improves their emotional experiences, which is incredibly worthwhile to witness and be a part of.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?
Couple: Young professionals considering starting a family, facing issues around intimacy, ADHD, and about to begin IVF.

I established a strong rapport with both partners, helping them understand how triggers from early relationships were affecting their present relationship. We explored how emotions manifested as bodily sensations and how cognitive biases, such as negativity bias, could escalate conflict.

I guided one partner in exploring their feelings of shame and guilt regarding their behavior towards the other—dismissive, angry, impatient, and embarrassed. This process helped them forgive themselves, take accountability, and implement both practical and psychological changes.

In adulthood, when significant events occur, you either assimilate them into your pre-existing narrative or accommodate them, allowing your story to shift and make room for new experiences.
