Christine has worked in private practice for 18 years to provide confidential and professional counselling in a supportive environment.  Her work has covered a wide range of issues with relationships and individuals, eg challenges and changes in relationships, relationship building/rebuilding, life changes and losses, personal coaching, family and blended family issues, parenting issues, communication, workplace issues, stress, anxiety and depression.

Christine’s passion in working with relationships is inspired and informed by her extensive ongoing professional development and training to update knowledge and skills through workshops and conferences.  Considerable training has built on her existing knowledge of   the differences and complexities in relationships that surface through the challenges in life that relationships face through different stages of the relationship.

The process of change occurs through tailoring the counselling approach to suit individual needs of clients and relationships.  This leads to better communication and understanding of each other and in turn a deeper connection in the relationship. Individuals become active participants by engaging in a joint process of partnership between individuals and counsellor.

Christine’s warm and caring approach allows a rapport to build quickly to engage in a working relationship.  Her focus underpinning her work is to facilitate personal growth and empower individuals and relationships to reach their full potential and thrive by building/rebuilding relationships to a deeper level of connection in order to have a fulfilling life.

Christine offers appointments for relationship counselling, family counselling, Individual counselling, Pre-marriage counselling, Mediation, Sex Therapy, Anger Management, Individual counselling, Blended families, Parenting issues, Adolescents and Phone counselling.

Counselling approaches offered are drawn from Family Systems Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Client-centred Therapy.

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?
    1. I am a good listener who quickly develops a rapport with clients, enabling them to open up and share their struggles and pain.
    2. I am highly skilled at analysing complex situations in a sensitive and caring manner.
    3. I have a strong capacity to improve communication and provide constructive strategies to guide clients into a more satisfying and fulfilling relationship.
What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

The most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work I do is to see clients move into the direction of their goals by working through the struggles blocking their progress.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

An example of a couple that I have helped the most has been when they had almost given up on their relationship, they have turned it around into a more connected and fulfilling relationship.
