    About Samantha

This Hart therapist is a skilled and professional counsellor, and member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). She is very passionate about the work that she does and is dedicated to helping her clients improve their lives. Her breadth of experience enables her to support a variety of clients including, adolescents, adults, couples and families, working with many areas of concern including personal and relationship issues.

She is approachable and outcome focused. She is creative in helping increase awareness and both understanding and respectful when helping unpack her clients past and present challenges. She will work with her clients to get back on track in a safe and supportive environment and focuses on providing the tools needed to improve their self-esteem and self-confidence, strengthen relationships and reach their individual goals.

She looks to empower her clients and individualises the therapeutic approach for each person. She does this by using evidence-based, cognitive behavioural therapy techniques that go way beyond just listening to the issues or concerns at hand, and truly helps you to progress to the life you want with greater wellbeing and life satisfaction.

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?
    1. Being able to establish a good client/therapist relationship.
    2. Empathy, good listening skills and the ability to read a client and know what direction we need to go, in order to work on what the real issues are. Great communication skills.
    3. Teaching clients the right tools to help themselves.
What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

I love to see the progress my clients make as I watch and guide them through their journey.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

I had a couple that had filed for divorce and came to me as a last effort to save their marriage.

Throughout our sessions together we worked on a number of issues and by using a strength based approach along with other techniques they were able to really open up and communicate what the issues were for them and what they wanted/needed out of the relationship. Two years on they are still together and have had a new commitment ceremony. They thanked me profusely for the sessions we had together and said they wouldn’t have stayed together if they had not come to do counselling with me.
