How many years counselling experience do you have?

    Over 10 years.

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?

Quick to build rapport, focused and attentive.

What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

Seeing clients realise their options and apply strategies which help them live more fully and positively.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

Most recently, a couple of 20 years who had lost the ability to communicate with one another.

“Recently a couple came to me saying they were in a rutt, communication had broken down and resentment had grown between them.  Over several sessions, I assisted the couple to identify the source of the resentment through various exercises and discussion.  I introduced the couple to the attachment theory in order for them to gain a deeper understanding of each other’s perspective and ways of responding.  This process encouraged the growth of empathy within the relationship and improved the communication between them also.
Through the process of counselling, I was able to witness the couple successfully adopt effective strategies in order to strengthen their relationship”
