Thomas is a gentle, empathic, and encouraging therapist who is passionate about assisting clients to overcome relationship difficulties and enhance meaningful connection. He has 7 years’ experience of client therapy and counselling. During this time, he has been motivated to ensure that his clients feel heard, understood, and supported during their therapeutic journey.
He takes time in the first session to establish goals and discuss expectations of therapy and is understanding that therapy is a collaborative process where clients take an active part in its direction.
Thomas has worked with clients from a variety of ages, cultures, identities, and beliefs. This has included working with families and parents, members of the LGBTIQA+ community, and individuals. As such, he is committed to tailoring his approach to the needs of his clients. Approaches Thomas utilises include attachment-based therapy, strength-based and solution-focused strategies, family systemic approaches, trauma focused approaches, Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Outcomes that can be achieved when working with Thomas include enhancing connection, improving effective communication, managing anger, developing mutual understanding between partners, resolving issues interrupting desired connection (such as anxiety or porn addiction), and/or effectively setting boundaries with others or for oneself.
