Sex and lovemaking can be one of the best, or most disappointing part of your life and your relationship.

Sex and lovemaking can be one of the best, or most disappointing part of your life and your relationship.

Sex is about so many things; Love, fun, eroticism, lust, connection, pleasure, ravishment and surrender.Great sex and lovemaking can be the glue that keeps you feeling deeply and physically connected with each other, enabling you to weather many other kinds of storms in your relationship and life in general.

The paradox of sex is that when it is good and satisfying, sex plays a small but positive role in your relationship (about 15 – 20%) ; BUT when sex is unsatisfying, avoided or a problem, it plays a hugely powerful drain and negative role in your relationship (from 50 to 75%).

You are not alone with a sexual issue

About 45% of couples have concerns or problems with sexual desire, arousal, orgasm or sexual satisfaction. Sex problems are rarely a simple performance problem with a simple cure. They are a result of psychological, physical and relationship factors and can cause great  emotional suffering and distress, creating negative ripples throughout various areas of your life.

Even though sex is a common topic for laughter and jokes  in many social conversations, most couples don’t really talk much about what they like and don’t like with each other, nor are most people educated on how to have a great and healthy sex life.

Long term relationships and sex

Often it is assumed that once you have been together for a period, that the fun and quality of your sex life naturally diminishes, but research has shown that this is not the case, and that the best sex can actually  happen in couples who have been in a committed relationship for 15 years or longer.

Although sex is a common topic for jokes and social conversations, most couples don’t really talk much with each other about what they like and don’t like, nor are most people educated on how to have an enjoyable and healthy sex life. Most people get by on trial and error and some information picked up from books, television and friends.
