    About Therapist

This Hart Clinical Psychologist works with individuals, couples, and families, and specialises in helping people navigate the complexities of their personal relationships. In his practice, he takes an empathetic and non-judgmental stance, seeking to create a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions. He believes in the power of collaboration and tailors his therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each individual, couple, or family he works with.

One of his particular areas of expertise is in relationship therapy and supporting couples to navigate through challenges, including in fostering healthier communication and understanding. He believes that healthy relationships are fundamentally important to living a meaningful and fulfilling life, and his work reflects this core belief.

He encourages partners to explore their needs and desires while fostering a deeper understanding of each other. Through relationship therapy, he aims to empower couples to navigate their challenges together, promoting intimacy and resilience. One of his key areas of focus is in early attachment and its significant impact upon romantic relationships. He helps clients explore and understand how past experiences, including in early relationships with caregivers, can influence their present relationships.

In his work with individuals, he seeks to provide opportunities for self-discovery and personal growth, by supporting clients to identify patterns and beliefs that may be influencing their relationships. Through a blend of careful listening and evidence-based intervention, he aims to help individuals with building resilience and enhancing their emotional wellbeing.

In family therapy, this Hart Clinical Psychologist recognises the interconnectedness of family dynamics. He works with families to identify and address communication breakdowns, conflicts, and generational patterns that may be impacting their relationships. His holistic approach considers the needs of each family member, creating a supportive environment for positive change.

Acknowledging that all relationships can face their own unique pressures, he seeks to guide individuals, couples, and families towards healthier, more fulfilling connections. Through his emphasis on early attachment and his warm, approachable manner, he aims to engage collaboratively in therapeutic work that can have a lasting impact on the lives of those seeking positive change and relationship harmony.

How many years counselling experience do you have?

    Over 5 years.

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?
    1. I take a curious, non-judgmental approach.
    2. I work collaboratively with individuals, families and couples, rather than sitting in the role of the ‘expert’ and claiming to have all the answers.
    3. Throughout my psychology training and career, I’ve worked within some highly experienced clinical teams, under the supervision of a number of highly regarded psychology and psychiatry supervisors.
What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

Seeing individuals, couples and families thrive with the benefit of reflective, insight driven therapeutic intervention.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

Helping a couple develop new insights around how their own individual attachment histories were impacting upon their relationship patterns with each other and in the broader world.
With this increased awareness, supporting this couple in their establishment of new and healthier patterns of relating.
