    About Terri S

    Terri is a highly qualified counsellor, with over 15 years’ experience working with individuals, couples and families. She regularly attends training to keep up to date on the best proven treatments for her clients developing individualised treatment plans.

    Terri has Bachelor of Counselling and Postgraduate of Family and Relationship Therapy as well as group and individual supervision qualifications. Terri is also a current member of the Australian Counselling Association.

    She understands each client is unique and therefore require an individual approach. Terri is respectful, empathetic, and caring taking the time to ensure her clients are understood and validated. Her therapy is an integrative approach underpinned by a systems perspective which focusses on the intergenerational patterns and how they can inadvertently influence the lives of everyone in the family.

    Some of the therapies Terri draws on, are Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy, Schema therapy, Attachment therapy, Mindfulness- based interventions coming form a person centered approach.

She wants you to feel safe to talk about any issues you need to in order to heal and recover. Terri believes that often a client must heal the past before moving forward into the future.

    What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

    I worked with a couple for about a year helping them to grieve the loss of their son who was addicted to drugs. Although he was still alive he no longer had contact with them and this then becomes disenfranchised grief. They went on to have a great relationship and their son through constant boundaries became drug free, ee then worked on repairing the trust in the family.
