Fiona is a counsellor and psychotherapist, and has been working in this industry for eight years. She completed a Graduate Diploma of Psychology, and then a Masters of Counselling. With a great deal of life and industry experience, she supports her clients in many different areas such as – mental health challenges, alcohol and other drug misuse, addiction, parenting differences and issues, separation and relationship breakdown, infidelity and trust issues, and problems with physical and emotional intimacy.
Fiona has a warm and engaging manner, and brings compassion, empathy and expertise to her work. She respects each couples unique ‘story’ and situation, and tailors her approach accordingly. She uses a number of evidence-based therapies to support this process.
She supports her clients in becoming more aware of problematic thoughts, beliefs, feelings and behaviours, and how they can negatively influence a couple’s relationship dynamic.
Knowing that communication is often a major issue for couples, she supports her clients in working through difficult conversations – allowing each to identify issues, and express their emotions, needs, and hopes. She believes this is one of the most important ways she can support clients to make positive change, and move forward in their relationships and lives.
She is passionate about focusing on the strengths of each individual and the relationship – helping a couple to gain more confidence, and to realise they can make the changes they need and want to.
