    About Therapist

Gene is a highly skilled psychotherapist who creates a therapeutic environment for her clients that is collaborative, culturally sensitive and trauma informed. She provides a non-judgemental and empathetic setting that allow her clients to feel safe in sharing their life’s challenges.

Her approach and objectives in counselling are to help her clients achieve self-empowerment, personal growth, increased emotional resiliency, self-healing, and lasting transferable life skills that promote mental wellbeing.

In her sessions, clients are drivers of their own counselling goals. She brings her expertise and experience to support them, by tailoring her interventions to everyone’s unique needs (client-centric).

She works with clients (individually, couples, or group) that experience issues such as: addiction, anger, depression, anxiety, careers counselling, childhood or adolescent issues, communication issues, conflict resolution, cultural & racial identity, existential or spiritual issues, family or parenting, gambling or gaming, grief and loss, LGBTQIA+ issues, life transitions, low self-esteem, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), rehabilitation, relationship issues, sex and sexual issues, social coping skills, and trauma recovery.
