Lisa understands the work of therapy can feel challenging at times, and she provides compassionate guidance, gentle encouragement, and unconditional positive regard every step of the way. Her commitment is to hold a warm, safe, and judgement-free space for your personal journey of self-discovery and healing. The core of her therapeutic approach is the belief that every person has an innate capacity for growth, healing, and positive change.
She is committed to providing an inclusive, accessible, and culturally-sensitive counselling experience for all individuals.
Lisa specialises in helping clients heal from trauma, overcome personal challenges, and cultivate fulfilling relationships and lives. She has 15+ years experience working in the mental health field, including 12 years as an emergency psychiatric nurse, where she gained invaluable experience supporting people through mental health crises, trauma, and injury. This inspired her to help clients who have endured traumatic histories, process their experiences and develop resilience.
Lisa has extensive experience working with clients who have learning challenges or neurodiversity. She understands the toll it can take on self-esteem and confidence, and enjoys supporting these clients in building self-compassion and healthy coping strategies.
To deliver the highest quality care, Lisa continually expands her skills through workshops, conferences, and advanced training. Her approach is also informed by authentic, lived experiences, allowing her to tailor her approach to suit each client’s needs, creating genuine connection and empowering clients to find their own healing path.
Lisa also has a background in clinical hypnotherapy which enables her to offer alternative ways to overcome the core beliefs formed in childhood.
While her work is one of her greatest passions, she also enjoys spending quality time with loved ones, and nurturing her creative side through various hobbies and artistic outlets. At her core, she values authenticity, lifelong learning, giving back to others, and taking time to nurture personal well-being.
