Lisa understands that the work of therapy can feel challenging at times, and she provides compassionate guidance, gentle encouragement, and unconditional positive regard every step of the way. Her commitment is to hold a warm, safe, and judgement-free space for your personal journey of self-discovery and healing. At the core of her therapeutic approach is the belief that every person has an innate capacity for growth, healing, and positive change.
She is committed to providing an inclusive, accessible, and culturally-sensitive counselling experience for all individuals, with a particular focus on neuroaffirming, trauma-informed care. Lisa specialises in supporting neurodivergent individuals and trauma survivors by blending science-backed tools with deep empathy and lived experience. Her goal is to help clients feel understood, reduce overwhelm, and build strategies that work with their brain—not against it.
With more than 15 years of experience in the mental health field, including 12 years as an emergency psychiatric nurse, Lisa brings invaluable expertise in supporting people through crises, trauma, and mental health challenges. This background inspired her passion for helping clients process difficult histories, build resilience, and cultivate fulfilling relationships. She also has extensive experience supporting clients with learning challenges or neurodiversity, helping them strengthen self-esteem, self-compassion, and healthy coping strategies.
Lisa’s approach is highly adaptable, recognising the unique needs of each client. She is neuroaffirming (no pathologising, no “fixing”), trauma-informed (safety and choice come first), ADHD-smart (practical, sensory-friendly tools for focus and emotional regulation), and sensory-aware (sessions may be adapted for lighting, sound, or movement).
Therapeutic Tools

Couples & Relationship Work
Lisa also specialises in working with couples, particularly in neurodiverse relationships (e.g., ADHD + non-ADHD partners). She supports partners in breaking recurring conflict cycles caused by trauma triggers, nervous system clashes, or ADHD-related dynamics such as rejection sensitivity. Her couples work integrates:
-
EMDR for relationships to heal past hurts.
-
Neuroaffirming communication tools to bridge differences.
-
Sensory & emotional safety practices to prevent meltdowns or shutdowns.
-
Trauma-informed conflict repair to shift from blame to mutual understanding.
This unique integration of attachment science, trauma-informed practice, and brain-aware tools helps couples truly hear and understand one another.
Ongoing Development & Personal Values
To deliver the highest quality care, Lisa continually expands her skills through workshops, conferences, and advanced training. Her approach is also enriched by authentic, lived experiences, allowing her to create genuine connections and empower clients to find their own healing path.
