Nicole is a registered clinical psychologist, with extensive experience providing psychological care to individuals with complex concerns. She has worked in private practice as well as outpatient public mental health services. She is an insightful, attentive and dedicated therapist, who works from a developmental-relational perspective with adolescents, adults and couples. Through carefully formulating the nature of problems, she works to address the underlying causes of mental health conditions and relationship difficulties such as; anxiety, (low) mood, personality functioning, addictions, eating behaviour, (co-)dependency, infidelity, conflict/communication styles, and loss of intimacy.
Nicole values and supports authentic expression within the therapeutic process, which she engages with curiously and with sincerity. She is committed to creating a safe therapeutic space, where vulnerability is welcome, emotional needs are recognised, and troubling feelings can be worked through compassionately.
Her approach involves close listening and observation, thoughtful conversation, as well as consideration of one’s unique and individual history. This provides an understanding of how problems have grown and developed, both in life and within relationships.
She skillfully attends to emotions and experiences, helping clients become aware of unrecognised aspects of oneself and the functioning of their relationships. She helps clients to develop strengths and establish helpful patterns of thinking, being and relating, which encourages empowering and meaningful change.
