    About Therapist

This Hart Psychologist is AHPRA registered, and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.

She works with clients on a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, relationships, adjustment, life transition and work-related concerns.

This Hart psychologist is passionate about working with people to enhance their quality of life and promote lasting psychological and emotional wellbeing, using evidence-based approaches. She uses a collaborative approach with clients with emphasis placed on mutual trust and respect, to empower individuals to develop insight and understanding of their own unique patterns and ways of responding to life circumstances.

From this, clients develop effective strategies that will help them to move forward and make positive changes. She views clients as individuals who bring to therapy their own unique experiences, beliefs, thoughts and circumstances and as such she tailors each session to best fit the client’s personal therapeutic needs. She uses a client-centred approach, drawing on a number of counselling models and techniques including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, and Schema Therapy.

She strongly believes that we can all live a life of meaning, purpose and fulfilment, and is passionate about working with people to achieve this.

How many years counselling experience do you have?

Over 12 years working in coaching and counselling roles.

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?

    1. Warm and genuine
    2. Insightful
    3. Supportive but also challenging

What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

Working with people to improve their quality of life and make their lives more fulfilling. It’s amazing to see what a difference just making small changes can make for some people and to see how much building self-belief and having someone truly believe in them transforms their life.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

In any long term relationship people start taking each other for granted, drift apart or stop growing together. I’ve worked with couples to help them reconnect again, to turn towards each other rather than away from each other and work on changing unhelpful patterns of communication and behaviour that they have developed over the years. It’s so satisfying to watch the love and appreciation between each couple grow back.
