Farhana is AHPRA registered, and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
She works with clients on a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, relationships, adjustment, life transition and work-related concerns.
Farhana is passionate about working with people to enhance their quality of life and promote lasting psychological and emotional wellbeing, using evidence-based approaches. She uses a collaborative approach with clients with emphasis placed on mutual trust and respect, to empower individuals to develop insight and understanding of their own unique patterns and ways of responding to life circumstances.
From this, clients develop effective strategies that will help them to move forward and make positive changes. She views clients as individuals who bring to therapy their own unique experiences, beliefs, thoughts and circumstances and as such she tailors each session to best fit the client’s personal therapeutic needs. She uses a client-centred approach, drawing on a number of counselling models and techniques including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, and Schema Therapy.
She strongly believes that we can all live a life of meaning, purpose and fulfilment, and is passionate about working with people to achieve this.
