    About Mary

Mary’s passion is empowering people to recognise and embrace their own innate strengths. Mary believes that for a relationship to be successful, each member must feel like they are powerful within it and outside of it.

Mary uses empathy and deep listening and teaches her clients tools to do the same. She provides a safe place for each participant to be heard and understood by their partner.

She helps clients who are dealing with grief, loss, anxiety, self esteem, relationship difficulties, end of relationships, life changes and personal growth. Mary offers a completely confidential safe place to work through these areas and gain positive insights.  Mary has a warm and empathetic style. She uses client lead counselling techniques and will meet you where you are, and will help you to get to where you want to be.

Mary is a member of the Psychotherapists and Counsellors Federation of Australia, and the International Coaching Federation. She has a Bachelor of Counselling (Coaching) from the Australian College of Psychology. She loves to help people find the best possible versions of themselves.

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?

My clients tell me that they feel heard, and that they feel they can trust me from early in the therapy. I have a natural warmth and empathy, but am passionate about fostering strengths. I use a lot of strength based therapy.

What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

Watching a client come through debilitating anxiety or grief and seeing them begin to flourish has been a true revelation.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

Teaching a couple how to listen to each other with the intent to understand, rather than to respond has been very powerful. I had one couple who had become so toxic that every sentence uttered by the other party was deemed to be evidence of their mal behaviours. I was able to work with this couple to see beyond their own prejudice and listen.
