    Types of Therapy
    About Therapist

Shelley specialises in couples and relationship issues, and is a member of the Australian Counsellors Association (ACA). She is passionate about couples issues, individual issues, desire and intimacy struggles, anger issues, LGBTQIA+ issues and assisting with therapy prior to marriage. She also holds qualifications in Meditation, Sexology and Hypnotherapy, with further training in youth mental health, suicide prevention and mental health support on top of her counselling diploma.

She utilises a blend of therapies to assist each individual/couple, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfulness, among others. She will work with you to create the therapy style best suited to your needs and utilises various tools to engage with you and explore avenues to help you reach your desired outcomes.

She previously coordinated a network of professionals and has a strong network of Allied Health Professionals she can connect clients with.

She is practical and grounded in her approach, empathetic and down to earth. She will use her professional skills and natural ease to be your best support, to help you set goals, grow and live well.

How many years counselling experience do you have?

    Over 8 years.

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?
    1. Down to earth
    2. Solutions focused
    3. Compassionate/Empathetic
What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

Assisted a couple who had completely lost touch with one another, forgetting each may be going through their own issues. I assisted in implementing effective communication by establishing transparency, realising maintaining their own identity was important, and bringing back emotional and physical nourishment to the relationship.  I used a mix of therapies and communication techniques in bringing this couple back to a healthy functioning marriage.
