Fiona provides a safe, calm space to help clients explore their emotional experiences and their feelings related to life events. Her aim is to provide an individualized counselling service, which will be tailored to your needs.
She has experience helping neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ clients, and is curious about understanding your perspective.
Prior to becoming a counsellor, she worked all over the world (UK, Europe, Hong Kong, and Australia) as a nurse and midwife. She has also served in the British Army.
Originally from the UK, she has had the experience of establishing a new life in Australia and the challenges that brings to your family.
Over the years, she has experienced her own life traumas, and strongly believes in the importance of being heard and understood. If you are feeling isolated, alone, or overwhelmed, this therapist can help navigate your difficult emotions in a respectful private confidential space.
She understands that life can throw us many challenges. Through counselling, she aims to help you deal with your complex thoughts, beliefs and traumatic experiences. This will enable you to take your first step towards successful healing. Sometimes we just need someone to talk to.
She approaches difficulties in a strength-based way, using methods such as Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma-informed care, EDMR, Gottman, and Emotional Focused Therapy.
She has extensive experience working with individuals and couples dealing with relationship difficulties, communication issues, and mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and grief and loss. Also, perinatal difficulties including early parenting, and antenatal and postnatal depression.
