What This Quiz Measures
Your results are shaped by five things relationship research consistently points to as predictors of relationship health: communication, trust, emotional connection, conflict resolution, and a shared vision for the future. Struggling in one area doesn’t automatically mean the relationship is in trouble, but a pattern across several is usually a sign it’s time to get support before small cracks become permanent ones.
Each of these areas tends to show up in everyday moments rather than big dramatic ones. Communication problems often look like conversations that stay surface-level. Trust issues can show up as needing to check in, or holding things back “just in case.” Emotional connection fades quietly, not through a single event, but through a slow drift. Conflict resolution problems show up as the same argument on repeat. And a shared vision gap often only becomes obvious when a big decision (moving, having kids, finances) forces it into the open.
Signs Your Relationship Might Need Some Attention
● You’ve started feeling more like housemates or co-parents than partners
● The same argument keeps resurfacing, no matter how many times you “resolve” it
● One or both of you has quietly stopped bringing things up
● Physical or emotional intimacy has faded and neither of you has named it
● You’re more relaxed around other people than you are at home
If two or more of these sound familiar, it doesn’t mean the relationship is doomed. It usually means something has been avoided for a while, and avoidance tends to compound.
How to Interpret Your Results
A high score doesn’t mean a perfect relationship, and a low score doesn’t mean an unsalvageable one. Think of your result as a temperature check, not a verdict. A single low-scoring area is common in any long-term relationship and often reflects a season you’re currently in: a stressful job, a new baby, grief, burnout. Low scores across most or all five areas are the clearer signal that it’s worth having an honest conversation, and possibly bringing in outside support, rather than waiting for things to improve on their own. What To Do Next
Whatever your score, you don’t have to figure out the next step alone. If your results point to some strain, a relationship counsellor can help you understand why and start rebuilding from there, together. Many couples wait years before reaching out, usually because things feel “not bad enough yet.” In practice, the earlier a pattern is named, the easier it is to shift.
