Monique is a Registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and holds a Master’s degree in Counselling. With over 15 years of experience across clinical counselling and rehabilitation settings, she has worked extensively with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, pain and disability, trauma, life transitions, and relationship distress. She is the founder of a trauma-informed, relational counselling practice established to support individuals in moving beyond survival and toward lives characterised by connection, authenticity, and emotional wellbeing.
Monique’s therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that healing occurs within safe and secure relationships. Her work is client-centred and integrative, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), blended with somatic healing and creative therapy techniques. Working through a trauma-informed and attachment-focused lens, she supports clients to understand the patterns that keep them feeling stuck, reconnect with their sense of self, and build relationships rooted in safety, trust, and mutual respect. She is particularly skilled in helping couples de-escalate conflict, rebuild emotional intimacy, and develop practical tools that strengthen communication and connection.
A significant focus of Monique’s practice is supporting couples and individuals experiencing relationship distress, including those navigating neurodivergence within partnerships. With lived experience as a late-diagnosed ADHD woman, she brings both professional insight and personal understanding to her work with “neuro-spicy” relationships. She is passionate about helping couples better understand one another’s nervous systems, communication styles, and emotional needs, and she provides a compassionate, structured space to explore intimacy, sexuality, and connection in ways that enhance closeness and joy.
Known for her warmth, authenticity, and steady presence, Monique strives to create therapeutic spaces where clients feel deeply heard and respected. Her work supports individuals and couples to heal attachment wounds, strengthen self-worth, and cultivate emotionally healthy relationships that allow them to live with greater clarity, resilience, connection – to build a life full of “colour”!
