Drawing on a lifetime of living and working in rural South Australia, as well as personal experience with a physical disability, Antoinette brings both professional expertise and genuine understanding to her counselling practice. Rather than focusing on limitations, she has learned the importance of adapting to life’s challenges and moving forward with purpose. Her goal is to help others recognise their own strengths and become the best version of themselves.
She holds a Master of Counselling, an MBA, and is a PACFA-registered Clinical Counsellor. Her diverse professional background spans mental health, community services, business administration, bookkeeping, and management, providing her with a broad understanding of the personal, family, workplace, and health-related challenges people can face throughout life.
Antoinette provides trauma-informed, person-centred counselling for individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, stress, life transitions, adjustment difficulties, relationship concerns, and suicidal thoughts. Her approach is tailored to each person’s unique circumstances and draws on evidence-based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Low-Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Li-CBT), Brief Interventions, Mindfulness, and Hypnotherapy.
Her special interests include supporting people living with anxiety, emotional distress, life transitions, chronic health conditions, disability, and those navigating periods of uncertainty or crisis. She is particularly passionate about helping clients build resilience, develop healthy boundaries, strengthen self-worth, and create meaningful and lasting change in their lives.
Having lived and worked in regional communities her entire life, she understands the challenges of isolation and limited access to services. This experience, combined with her compassionate and practical approach, enables her to connect with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
Clients often value her ability to create a safe and supportive environment where they feel heard, respected, and understood. Her strengths include building strong therapeutic relationships, effective communication and helping people identify their strengths, overcome obstacles, and move forward with greater confidence and hope.
