Yannik is a German-Australian Psychologist who works with couples when communication has become difficult, conflict keeps repeating, or the connection between partners has started to feel different.
Clients may come to therapy because they keep having the same arguments, feel increasingly disconnected, are struggling with intimacy or trust, or simply don’t know how to get their relationship back on track. Sometimes there isn’t one major problem, just a sense that things have changed.
Yannik approach is warm, thoughtful and non-judgemental. He works with both partners equally, creating a space where each person can feel heard and understood without blame or taking sides. Together, couples can explore the patterns keeping them stuck and develop practical ways to communicate more effectively, manage conflict, rebuild connection and better understand each other.
Yannik believes therapy should be collaborative and tailored to the people in front of him. Rather than simply telling clients what to do, he teaches the psychological skills needed to create lasting change.
Alongside couples counselling, he works with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, including anxiety, OCD and panic attacks. He also provides clinical assessment and diagnosis for a range of conditions, including ADHD, Autism, PTSD, and more.
Whether facing a specific relationship challenge, feeling increasingly disconnected, or simply wanting to strengthen a relationship before problems become bigger, therapy can provide a safe space to work through it together.
Yannik also provides counselling in German. Appointments are available both online and in person in Fitzroy North.
