Jess is a compassionate and approachable counsellor who is passionate about helping people build healthier, more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others. She believes that the quality of our relationships has a profound impact on our emotional wellbeing, sense of self-worth and ability to feel safe and connected. Jess provides a warm, non-judgmental space where individuals and couples can explore their challenges openly, feel heard and understood, and begin to make meaningful changes.
Jess has a particular interest in couples counselling, attachment patterns and the emotional experiences that shape how we connect with the people we love. She understands that beneath relationship conflict, withdrawal or repeated misunderstandings, there is often a deeper longing to feel valued, accepted and emotionally safe. Her approach focuses on helping couples understand the patterns they become caught in, recognise the feelings and needs beneath their reactions, and develop new ways of communicating and responding to one another. She is particularly passionate about supporting couples navigating disconnection, recurring conflict, trust difficulties and the impact of past relationship hurts.
A key part of Jess’s work is helping couples slow down difficult interactions and create space for genuine understanding. She recognises that when partners feel hurt, overwhelmed or misunderstood, it can become difficult to listen, communicate effectively or see things from each other’s perspective. By approaching these moments with curiosity and compassion, Jess helps couples move away from blame and defensiveness towards greater empathy, emotional connection and relationship repair. She draws on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method to support couples in strengthening their connection, rebuilding trust and developing practical skills to navigate conflict. She also supports individuals experiencing anxiety, low self-worth and relationship challenges, helping them better understand their attachment patterns and build greater confidence and trust in themselves.
What Jess finds most rewarding about counselling is witnessing the moment people begin to understand themselves and each other differently. Whether helping a couple rediscover their connection after a period of distance or supporting an individual to develop healthier relationship patterns, she values the courage it takes to make changes and approach relationships in new ways. Jess believes that meaningful change begins when people feel safe enough to be vulnerable, understood enough to feel less alone, and supported enough to try something different. Her aim is to help clients build relationships that feel more secure, connected and fulfilling, both within their partnerships and in their relationship with themselves.
