    About Therapist

This Hart therapist holds a Post Graduate degree in Psychoanalysis from University of Santa Ursula (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and is a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association.

She is an experienced psychoanalyst, having worked in private practice seeing adults, couples and children, with a special interest on anxiety, depression and self-esteem issues. She also has an interest in working with infertility as well as recent immigrants to Australia and the issues they face settling in the country and culture. She has worked as a psychoanalyst on some governmental social projects in needy communities in Brazil.

She will often adjust her techniques to meet the client’s needs as each individual is unique and demands a different hearing/ approach. She integrates Mindfulness in her sessions, finding the method can be very useful at times.

She is the author of an honours-thesis.

How many years counselling experience do you have?

    Over 16 years.

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?
    1. The ability to offer a non-judgemental hearing that allows clients to feel embraced and comfortable to explore their own emotional patterns.
    2. An empathetic approach that promotes emotional changes from a place of acceptance.
    3. The flexibility to customise the therapeutic approach based on clients’ needs and experiences.
What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

Being part of each client’s emotional journey and exploring along with them new possibilities to embrace a healthier and more fulfilling life. I celebrate each client’s achievement feeling proud of what they are capable of and feeling grateful to be able to witness their emotional growth.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

A couple that was struggling with communicating to each other and was bringing along their personal traumas and past fears into the present relationship. Once we were able to identify those issues and necessary changes, the dynamic became different and communication was no longer such a hard part of their couple life.
