Specialised Training

Ruth has an international reputation as a clinician, presenter/trainer and author. She is a pioneer in promoting psychodynamic meaning making therapy in work with adults, parents, couples, children and adolescents through her extensive trainings in Australia and overseas.

She is a consultant to an NHS service in the UK for high-risk adolescents and their parents, and a regular contributor to clinical services and training programmes in the UK.

  • Individual Supervision, including supervision of couple therapy and therapeutic assessments, with Dr. Suzie Dean (Clinical Psychologist and Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society).
  • Training with Dr. John Norcross on ‘Psychotherapy Relationships and Treatment Adaptations that Work: Targeting the therapeutic relationship’
  • Five year post graduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with children, adolescents and their parents, Tavistock Clinic London
  • Personal psychoanalysis as part of psychotherapy training

Ruth is a highly experienced Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Trainer. She has worked with couples, at a senior level both in the public and private health sectors in the UK and Australia. Now primarily focused on Couples Therapy, she provides a practical, pragmatic, and empathetic approach, drawing upon her extensive experience and skill set to assist couples in revitalizing their relationship.
