  • Helping clients to find simple, workable solutions to problems that seem overwhelming.

  • Most couples seeking help have in common a loss of trust and many have lost hope. So, helping to restore trust and hope is a common, basic factor in helping most couples.

This is achieved by coaching unambiguous, achievable agreements based on clear, equitable communication. This is monitored for accountability and fine-tuning as necessary. A ‘no-blame’ approach is fundamental. The goal is not a change in personality but instead, a change in behaviour that can be trusted.

Most often, a reliable change of behaviour on both sides that goes towards meeting the other’s needs, leads to changes in the feeling-tone of the relationship. Then a positive spiral can replace the negative one. Changes in behaviour are aided by work geared towards mutual understanding of each other’s experience of the relationship.
