    About Susan

Susan enjoys helping clients with Individual and Relationship Counselling at her Canberra office.

Susan originally trained in London at London University, in the early 1990’s where she majored in organisational psychology, but went on to study a Masters and Post Masters “Chartered Status” in Counselling Psychology focusing on Family Systemic Therapy.  She also trained and lectured in the UK, in the field of antenatal and postnatal depression and the impact on families.

Having worked as a psychologist in the UK’s NHS, she then moved to Canberra in early 2001 when she worked in the pain management unit at the Canberra Hospital. She later went on to work organisationally on mental health issues and bullying and harassment in the Australian Public Service and the impacts of this on family life and relationships.

This work lead her to provide counselling services for: couple therapy, life transitions, child behavioural issues, anger management issues, depression, anxiety and pain management which can all be found within the confines of family life.

The therapies she uses are: Structured Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Positive Psychology, Family Systemic Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy  and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
