How many years counselling experience do you have?

    Over 20 years.

What are three strengths you have as a Psychologist/Counsellor?
    1. Down-to-earth approach incorporating strategies and tools for genuine growth and change
    2. Non-judgmental, open and genuinely interested in understanding each individual and couple’s needs
    3. I do not operate from an agenda of any kind – all sessions are based on addressing the priorities that are real, in-the-moment and that will meet the intended outcomes for each person attending sessions
What is the most satisfying and fulfilling part of the work you do?

Being able to listen to, support and empower people to be a part of the solutions they seek to overcome any life challenge they may be facing.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

A couple who had been together for many years and sill loved each other, yet had drifted apart due to lack of communication and intimacy leading to diminished trust. Working alongside them and sharing practical, hands-on and relevant skills to build deep connection through vulnerable communication was precious.

The bond between them magnified which led to more trust to be able to speak openly and honestly – being heard without being judged. This led to renewed physical intimacy and a new level of passion and energy to stay in the relationship.

What’s an example of a couple you have helped the most?

One couple were seriously considering separating. I helped them identify the problems in their relationship, which gave us direction so they could reach the goals they wished to achieve. They were diligent and learnt many strategies and tools, including communication skills. They learnt to take the judgement and blame off of one another and were able to negotiate ways they could stay together without fighting or storming out. They learnt to listen without becoming defensive, and how to ask each other how they could help the other achieve their dreams.
